The Hagley Museum and Library
Business history fans wont want to miss the Hagley Museum.
Located on 235 acres along the banks of the Brandywine River in Wilmington, Delaware, Hagley is the site of the gunpowder works founded by E. I. du Pont in 1802. This example of early American industry includes restored mills, a workers' community, and the ancestral home and gardens of the du Pont family.

The Winterthur Museum
Winterthur, an American country estate, is the former home of Henry Francis du Pont (1880-1969), an avid antiques collector and horticulturist. In the early 20th century, H. F. du Pont and his father, Henry Algernon du Pont, designed Winterthur in the spirit of 18th- and19th-century European country houses. Children’s gardens, hands on learning rooms and unparalleled collections of antiques await at the Winterthur Museum.

Rodney Square
Named for Caesar Rodney, Rodney Square was built in the 1920s in the center of Wilmington with the Caesar Rodney statue as the centerpiece. Old New Castle County Courthouse was demolished and a park was built in its place. Rodney Square is bordered by the following streets: N Market St, N King St, 11th St, and Deleware Ave.
Christina River & Brandywine Creek
The Battle of Brandywine was fought around the creek near Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania in 1777, during the American Revolution. Water powered grist mills in Brandywine Village and the nearby DuPont gunpowder mill were key in developing American industry before the introduction of steam power. The Lower Brandywine is a designated Pennsylvania Scenic River.
Delaware Art Museum
This Museum is best known for it’s collection of British Pre-Raphaelite art. Howard Pyle and John Sloan are featured artists. American illustrations and landscapes will delight you. The Delaware Art Museum is located at:

Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts
Founded in 1979 by a group of artists and arts patrons, the DCCA made its focus the promotion of growth and understanding of the contemporary arts in the State of Delaware. Started in a former sheet-metal fabricating factory the Center moved several times, finally finding a permanent home in 2000. A huge 35,000-square-foot building that once remodeled, opened with seven galleries, 26 on-site artist studios, an auditorium, a museum shop, a classroom and administrative office space.
The DCCA is located at 200 South Madison Street, in the historic Harlan and Hollingsworth building on the rejuvenated Wilmington Riverfront.
Delaware Historical Society
The Delaware History Center in the 500 block of Market Street Mall in downtown Wilmington is composed of the Delaware History Museum, Old Town Hall, Willingtown Square, and HSD's research library. Public parking is available at 4th and King Streets, 7th and King Streets, 6th and Shipley Streets, and at street meters.
The Delaware History Center is just a few blocks from the Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park, the First USA Riverfront Arts Center, and the Wilmington train station.
Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame
The Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame honors Delaware’s great athletes. Whether through their coaching, officiating, administrative and journalism contributions they’re all here. Additionally, the museum preserves the performances of Delaware inductees and other athletes through the display of memorabilia, artifacts and photos and videos. The Museum is located at:

Carolina League baseball
During its first 59 years, the Carolina League has established itself as one of baseball's premier minor leagues, renowned for hot prospects, intense rivalries, memorable pennant races, and astounding plays.
The league has fielded anywhere from four to 12 teams in places ranging from metropolitan centers to tiny Red Springs, NC. U.S. President, George Bush attended two games at Frederick in 1991 and 1992. Literally hundreds of current Major Leaguers played in the CL, and dozens of big league umpires, broadcasters and executives have worked in the league.
